AI and Developer Jobs Survey

We Asked the Community — Results Coming Soon
In June, we asked you a question that usually gets answered by other people. Plenty gets written about how AI is reshaping tech jobs: studies, forecasts, strategy papers. The authors are usually economists, consultancies, or the AI vendors themselves. Rarely asked: the people who write the code, build the systems, run the infrastructure, secure the products, and use AI tools every day.
Together with Handelsblatt, the major German business newspaper, we set out to change that and you answered. Developers, data scientists, data engineers, AI experts and tech professionals of every stripe.
We didn't ask whether AI will "rationalise jobs away." We asked for the concrete picture: Which tasks can be automated today? Which new ones appear? Where does AI genuinely help, and where does it create work through quality problems? Where are the risks? Which skills matter more? And how do you actually feel about it?
Why Handelsblatt? Because it's read by exactly the executives who decide about our work.
What happens next: Handelsblatt has exclusivity on the first publication. Once their piece is out, we'll publish the full results here on the PyCon DE blog.
Thanks to everyone who took part.
